Wow. I’m already seeing people complaining about how everyone is flipping tits because of the NASA Curiosity Rover. “Why is it so special, it’s just another landing, who cares?”
LET ME TELL YOU WHY THIS IS GONNA BE IN THE HISTORY BOOKS.
This isn’t just any other landing. We aren’t going to collect rocks, we aren’t going to get pictures. We are going to see if Mars has had life on it, or if it still does have life on it. If either are true, we will be sending humans to Mars in the 2030’s. This isn’t Science Fiction, this is reality.
So if you’re sitting here, thinking this whole Mars Rover thing is overblown, NASA itself just said this is the most technologically advanced, and complicated, robotic space mission ever attempted. So please, take a moment, and consider the fact that you just lived through one of the most groundbreaking moments in scientific history.
